Words Written and Shared

When does a string of words become a story? Some might say it’s that first moment a writer puts pen to paper or fingers to a keyboard. But I argue that what turns those words into a tale are the people you share them with. Or even the act of sharing to begin with. Otherwise, it’s just a person alone with their thoughts in a medium even easier to over-analyze than in their head. And that’s a dangerous place to be.

I greatly hope that at least some of my words reach out to inspire people, to move them, or even just to entertain them. And I understand that my words might not resonate with everyone or even most of those who read them. But I’ll take that chance, knowing that without being shared, my words have no wings.

  • Micro Fiction: Short, tiny snippets of writing. Usually prompted by either a flash fiction site or twitter.
  • Photo Prompts: While I do love to write, I find it difficult to find time for it every day. Or I struggle to find inspiration sometimes for longer works. So these are a promise to myself, to attempt to be working on something even when I might not feel like it.
  • Short Works: Disjointed stories that are either inspired by prompts, writing challenges, or just fragments of imagination that my mind conjures up.
  • Long Works: Either a series of connected short stories or my novels and novel-length projects.
